Issue of runway capacity being raked up yet again whenever there is talk to increase offerings for Surat. Printouts dated before SG started services are floating around maybe to try and get flyers who have decided to fly from Surat to change their mind. We are filing an RTI to find out how much capacity is the actual capacity of the runway and if the charter movements especially of SRK exports were authorised in excess of capacity, then under whose authority it was done. If Surat airport cannot handle extra flights, then these extra charters would have affected our runway much more and we have to exploit a corruption angle against whoever authorised extra flights IF IT WAS BEYOND CAPACITY OF RUNWAY. We have to act now. We have been negotiating peacefully for too long and now we have to start taking action without caring who will be hurt who will not. We have to question cost of aerobridges. 2 aeobridges is much tooo much for 2 landings and take offs per day. We have to question how they plan to recover costs. How many movements have they planned recovery against.
