Issues with RAPIDS CAC Encoding Process Initial Broadcast Date: 14-JUN-13 Current Date: 17-JUN-13 DMDC is still experiencing sporadic issues with Common Access Card (CAC) encoding transactions failing or taking excessive time to complete. The failures have not been associated to any specific time or location, are generally consistent throughout the day, and impact users at widespread locations. A workstation that experiences a problem for one transaction may work if users choose to retry or try again later in the day. Specifically, for the purpose of tracking this issue, "failed encoding" is defined as: •Transactions that complete successfully, but take more than 10 minutes to complete •Transactions that fail to complete due to an error •Transactions that are cancelled by the user prior to completion DMDC is actively working on isolating the issues to identify the problem. We apologize for the negative impact this may be having on your operations and for any inconvenience this may have created. DMDC will continue to provide updates with any new information. If you experience issues as described above, please contact the DMDC Support Center (DSC) User Help Desk at 1-800-372-7437 or DSN 698-5000 (CONUS) / 312-698-5000 (OCONUS).
