“It Can’t Hold You.” Hebrews 2:5-9 The book of Hebrews was written to the early church. They were experiencing persecution because of their beliefs. The new church wanted to walk by faith but the old church wanted to drag them back to their religious beliefs and lifeless acts of worship. The new church was able to recognize that routine does not reach God. In this season, we are going to new levels so we must learn new levels of fighting warfare. The old styles of fighting are not going to work in this season. The enemy knows our routine so he is already prepared when we try to put up a fight. In Spiritual Warfare, we must identify who we are. We have been crowned with Glory and Honor by God. When we are crowned we represent Christ and everything about him so the enemy does not like it. We must understand where our haters originated from. Haters started with the devil. Satan hates us because we are crowned with God’s Glory. When satan sees us, he is reminded of the relationship that he once had with Christ. He wishes he was where we are… (equally the same with our haters in the natural). The enemy wants to cause a Spiritual separation between us and God. He wants us to experience a spiritual death. He knows that death is a stronghold. He knows that man fears death. He knows that man alone cannot defeat death. We have to make sure that satan does not step between us and God. There are several types of fighting in the sports world…wresting, karate, kickboxing and boxing. However, there is something called the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). In this type of fighting, there is a combination all of the previously mentions styles. When you combine these styles, you get dirty. You break the routine. You catch your opponent off guard. In UFC, you target a specific part of the body and you squeeze it until it snaps or until your opponent taps out. That is similar to the stronghold of satan. His goal is to apply the stronghold until we snap or tap out. BUT…because we are already crowned a champion by God, we have to ability to break the stronghold of the enemy. We must identify who we are and know our weak as well as our strong points. We must recognize who we are fighting. We have to be able to recognize demonic spirits because the enemy is subtle and crafty. We have been given the power to break chains…so when things get tight…when the stronghold begins to squeeze us…we can’t Tap Out…we have to Tap In! We must tap in to Christ Jesus. We have to change up our routine. We have to understand our mission. We can longer going to be content just getting the victory over the enemy. We must destroy him. (Hebrews 2:14). We have to annihilate the stronghold so that it does not bother us anymore. When we tap in, it’s not about our strength. We are able complete our mission by magnifying God. Magnify means to enlarge so when we magnify God, He begins to enlarge Himself. He will swell up and break the stronghold of the enemy. It’s time to change it up. It’s time to let go of our routines and traditions. Routine is not going to cut in on this level. It’s time to combine some styles and shock our opponent. It’s time to fight dirty. It’s time to destroy our opponent so that it will not resurface ever again. It’s time to break strongholds. When we tap in and begin to magnify God and God begins to enlarge Himself, it can’t hold us! We are Ultimate Fighting Champions…crowned by God! ~Minister Derrick Shrieves GNHCM Bible Study 3/5/2014
