This man was a business man and a devout christian .The story of his life is this he loss his son to scarlet fever his son was 4 years old, after a few years he lost all four of his daughters ages 11,9,7 and 2 years old in a horrible ship accident. And when he heard the news he went to go meet his wife who also was in the accident and she survived. When he was near the site where his daughters died he penned this song IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL WE LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE BAD THINGS SEEM TO BE HAPPENING SO FAST BUT I KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE JESUS IS PRESENT IN THE GOOD AND IN THE BAD.
