It absolutely astounds me when an author says it doesnt matter, its a good story. Yes, a good story is important - but youve got to make sure its packaged correctly. And please, dont argue with me that youre the exception to the rule, and dont need editing/cover design/formatting. Its great if you can do it yourself, but no one Ive encountered that claims they can do all three actually *can*. And youre losing sales if you keep devaluing and disrespecting your readers. Invest in yourself - its worth it. And yes, sometimes it takes a while to earn it back, but thats how business actually is. Balance off profit and loss by all means, but in your loss column, dont leave your entire fictive works. Its just not fair to you or those that spend the time reading your books. *so endeth the sermon*.
