It all boils down to Reactive and Proactive politics. We live in a reactive world ... As community we are taught/socialized by the system n circumstances to indulge in everything that distracts us leaving us only with our reactions to defend us when we fall into a bad situation. As organizers we too often launch reactive movements, however I do see those who have had paradigm shifts toward proactive approach which is where we need to flow. And then government, they all too often seek to protect people with reactive measures that amount to nothing but a band-aid approach that fails to bring any real attention or concern to the table that could or would address the issue at hand especially when they deem such approaches would be too costly as they would take from monies that could better get put to use in increasing their incomes ... the only time i really see proactivity get practiced alot is when governments and corporations are tryin to get paid ... thats when u see all sorts of forethought going into that plan of increasing income flow to their pockets. Jus makin the point that we all need to be ever more challenging to ourselves and community members to embrace a new normalized mindset that while living in the now also has the foresight to see ahead so that we can be proactive in the now... here we will hold government and corporations accountable in a proactive way for their reactionary tendencies on issues that are important to us for our well being n existence.
