It all started at 11:30 this morning. I hear a beeping sound coming from Amandas bedroom. I recognize it as her iPod alarm. Where is her iPod? In her Justice-brand safe. Of course, I could not open the safe, because she loves to change her password, and I discovered (not surprisingly) that she forgot to update said password in the password spreadsheet the last time she changed it. I began frantically searching online for how to override her password (because the beeping was driving me insane), and I was not successful in my search. As I was getting frustrated, it was suggested that I should put the safe in the garage until Amanda got home from school so the beeping wouldnt bother me. What???!!! I cant do that. Ill KNOW the iPod is beeping. I then proceeded to remove the batteries, and while doing so, remembered (somehow...maybe God took pity on me) that the original factory code was 0000. So, when I put the batteries in again, I was able to reset the password to the factory settings and open it, and turn off the iPod alarm. I then proceeded to Amados Restaurant in town (5 minutes later than I should have left) to meet a friend for lunch, could not find a nearby parking space, and had to park a block away. I get into the restaurant, and as soon as I walk in, I remember (after seeing Jeanne Wolf a few days ago) that we decided to go to the Sake House Restaurant instead. I totally forgot because that beeping sound was still in my head! So, I had to leave the restaurant, walk a block back to my car, and drive over to the Sake House...and arrived 15 minutes late. (I did let Jeanne know about all this from my cell...so she was aware of why I was late, and to give her a good laugh before lunch.) Amanda doesnt know it yet, but Ive now changed the safe code. I wonder how shell get her safe open now?? Maybe I should put the iPod back in it, and set it to go off at 3AM :)
