It all started in 2011 when Sera asked me if we could start a ministry amongst the forgotten people of the Coacalco rubbish dump in Mexico City. Coacalco is a council or Municipality in Mexico City of more than 7 million people. Last year after a time of praying and waiting on God, the door finally opened for us and as we entered the area we found out that a sister from another ministry has been reaching them for 4yrs. We were left with 2 choices to make, 1st is to move in and start our own ministry there, secondly on the ground of pastoral courtesy we are going to support the ministry that is already there. In the end we decided to move in and support the sister. We started by supporting through mercy ministry, (distribution of food, groceries, and clothes and the construction of the roof of the church.) After constructing the roof of the church the sister stopped communicating with us for unknown reason which in the end we decided to pull our people out of the area just to maintain the unity amongst the members she is already reaching. It wasn’t an easy decision to take because from day one of entering we saw that it is more than just doing mercy ministry like what the sister has been doing for 4yrs, We honestly believed that it’s all about changing the people’s mind-set spiritually physically, emotionally, and mentally and also help create opportunities so they will be self-sufficiency in having the capacity of supplying one’s own or its own needs without external assistance or the ability to survive on only that which they are able to gather, grow, make, or raise on their own and not depending on the garbage and the blessings of others all their lives. Glory be to our good Lord, exactly 1 year from the time we pulled out of the area, God again opened the door for us through one of our Pastor whom the Lord led to the area to go and pray and he found out that the sister who used to do ministry in the area has stopped visiting them for more than 5 months, we moved in again and we found out that the sister has already informed them that she will not be doing ministry with them again. What a mighty God we serve… He knows our hearts desire and 3 weeks ago our team has already opened cell meetings with them and today the 16th of October 2014 we had our inauguration service in the church and Pastor Gregorio and family of Veracruz State was our speaker for the night, attended by 20 people. We are so looking forward to see the hands of God moving again in a supernatural way in the lives of these forgotten people. This Saturday the 18th we will be starting our first music and dance class with the children. Prayers: a) Please do remember our church in this place. b) Please pray for Pastor Ignacio, Sister Magdalena, Miguel and Mauricio our team that will be working amongst this people. c) We need the release of finances. d) We need to buy new chairs, tables, sound system etc, for this church. e) We need to construct the walls of the church and also to extend etc. SUPPORT!
