It all started with the rave over meteor garden, @gaby was just 8 then, got swept off her feet by Vaness Wu, pre-teen crush or simply put, just a fan, now, tell me, who doesnt care about the F4 back then, perhaps even the males does, got a crush on San Chai, felt insecure about the machismo of Dao or the gentlemanliness of Wa Ze Lei, or secretly imitated them, oh well, we have our own stories to tell. And while the F4 fever hasnt died yet, the Korean counterpart had caused the same mania, she was just 12 then. Today, November 30, our lovely daughter is 18. After almost 10 years, her infatuation became love, love for Everything Korean, the K-Pop, their food, even their language, try to call her on the phone & shell answer Anneyong Haseo, in a fluent Korean accent. Even our Korean friends Haelyung Heather was so amazed at her she said shes almost Korean! Its her debut, we planned this 8 months earlier to make her Korean dream come true, to visit Korea & if lucky enough meet her KPoP idols in person anytime today till December 2. With much belt tightening, loads of research (on where her KPOp idols perform, hang out, drink coffee & many others), overwhelming support of all the awesome people (I did a fund raising for this trip, I am deeply indebted but extremely grateful to Mom (for shouldering a part of our airfare), to Tita Divine Siojo & Tita Antonietta Miln (for our hotel accomodation & fabulous winter outfits), her Lola Erlinda &her equally youthful & her pretty Ninangs Irish , Herschelle , Danette, Sandra , my pogi brother Francois & cutest cousin Moos , my staff Akia Elise ( who would always make sure my desk is clean of any evidence of my research), Abistado Resmyol & all others whom I might have failed to mention, for their generosity & kind souls. You are all a part of this once in a lifetime & momentous event in her life, your gifts that greatly contributed in making this real. Gaby only found out about this trip at the airport, wearing her school uniform! Thanks to Gillean for not spilling the beans & preserving the element of surprise. Happy 18th bithday gaby, our first miracle. There aint no sun, moon & stars high enough that we wont reach & give you.
