It amazed me that so many people had something to say about the possibility of a methadone clinic coming to Waveland but they dont or wont get involved or informed on all the other issues facing our city leaders. You can count on one hand the number of citizens in attendance at the two regularly scheduled meetings each month. One can learn a great deal of what is going on in the city. How many of you are aware that there was an agenda item wanting to lease space at the Choctaw Shopping Center to hold court? Thankfully it failed but the thought of it even being considered should concern all the citizens. We have a police department in a Trailer but we want to RENT space to hold court? We have 2 fire stations with 2-3 fire fighters per shift, a huge City Hall that is under utilized plus the Civic Center, seems we have an issue that we cannot manage space well or we cannot control court days if there is a fear of destruction of city property.
