It amazes me how many people dont know about this so Im going to post it on my fb account and hope someone learns something new. Todays lesson is about banking! (Yes, Im being sarcastic...P.S. In a nice way...) Anyway... If you want to deposit money into a bank that doesnt charge a fee or require you to have a $1,500 balance every month, then do not use any of the commercial banks i.e. Capital One, TD Bank, Citzens United, HSBC, Chase, etc. Instead, use a bank that is part of a federal credit union. These banks dont charge ridiculous fees nor require a hefty amount that most of us cant afford. The only requirement is that you put in at least a dollar every once in a while... The banks you should be looking into using are: Teachers Federal Credit Union, Suffolk County National Bank, Suffolk County Federal Credit Union (I think that is what its called.), Bethpage Federal Credit Union and so on and so forth.
