It appears as if OUR biggest enemy is OUR way of thinking. All of these shootings in Chicago and it gets minimal attention (dont get me started there), but where does this self-destructive mentality stem from? It dates back to slavery. Simple divide and conquer tactics that WEVE never rid ourselves of. It can be heard when someone makes dark/light skin jokes, hair texture jokes, the thinking of good hair, the constant need to tell everyone youre mixed, the derogatory language that WE use against each other, the crabs in the barrel mentality. Look in the mirror for a second and STOP contributing to it! Slavery has been over for 150 years. Jim Crow was ended nearly 50 years ago. The laws have eradicated discrimination as much as possible. Now its YOUR turn to swing the pendulum towards the positive.
