It appears in my travels that Costa Rica and Nicaragua are pretty bad? Especially Costa Rica. Nicaragua claims to have the lowest crime rate, but thats because no one reports crime . . its a waste of time. Gringos are money and wherever they go . . . people want their money. I feel safer in our place here in Panama than I did in California. We are in a rural setting, three miles from town. In town there are no beggars, no homeless and everyone has a job. The main crime is some youngsters that come up from a larger town with a truck, find a house with the inhabitants gone and empty the place.
