It appears that the reality for the left is that history and international conflict are merely tools to inform political talking points. Consistency of principle and an awareness that the world is not always what we hope and believe it to be are jettisoned for sound bites and advantage. What we would like to see but almost certainly never will: an acknowledgement of her being completely wrong and a congratulations to Romney for hitting the nail precisely on the head.
