It appears that we may have reached market saturation for high fidelity games about white guys gunning down large masses of people. Though the industry would point at GTA 5 as an example of how far that can carry them, I wonder how much farther an open world game could go if the primary verb wasnt shoot. (Look at the initial excitement over Watch Dogs prior to everyone learning it heavily involved shooting.) Of course, the problem is getting the current market to accept such a game. The core demographic has become so used to games myopically focusing on them that I believe it has fostered among that group a strong sense of entitlement regarding who games should be made for. -- Brian Swift
