It appears there will be a stunning & symbolic turn of events to the revolution in Egypt that toppled a 30 year old autocratic regime. State prosecutors in Egypt are set to drop corruption charges against Hosni Mubarack the embattled erstwhile Egyptian leader which may make him qualified for bail. In another absurd twist, the prosecutors are willing to file fresh charges against the ousted democratically elected leader Mohammed Morsi a product of the revolution. The lesson here is; anyone observing the turn of events in Egypt will be quick to describe the Egyptian revolution with the common phrase "bull in a china shop". Since the revolution Egyptians have testified that they have only retrogressed as a nation, Even though the revolution started on a good note, it was later hijacked & the consequence is the confusion the state of Egypt is experiencing today. Egypt provide us with the example of how revolutions meant to enforce dictatorial powers on people by democratic means can fall like a pack of cards. Nigerians that are quick to join the bandwagon of revolution must be careful of bad eggs that can turn the lofty ideals of the revolution on its head. Without raising arms against the state you can start your own personal revolution by changing the way you give bribes to cut corners, observe traffic rules, stop short changing your fellow country men with fake products, follow the queue where there is one etc. That is how true and genuine revolution begins, till the bubble will eventually burst on the rent seekers who have continue to rape our democracy and have made our social, political & economic development to reach almost to a state of comatose.
