It began with a photograph of a Big Green Egg holder, crafted from Cedar by a group of artisans in Atlanta. While Cedar is a wonderful wood for outdoor patio projects, my personal belief is that it is too I soft for furniture. So, this blackening cook station was crafted from reclaimed hardwoods: White/Red Oak, and White Ash. The White Oak that is the framework for the door is burled, ancient growth Oak. It is an irreplaceable medium to those that adore lumber. The top is hand screened concrete that will be acid stained in a rust Marble like color. The copper trivet was designed to be removable and set on the dining table for presentation of the blackened fish/chicken/vegetables. What fun this was.
