It being election season, minority candidates are thumping on Idahos education system as being underfunded, etc., but heres a report in which the state compares favorably with its neighbors and ranks about the middle of the pack nationally, not at the bottom as Ds and media suggest.....Idaho has a #27 ranking, similar to Or (33), Mt. (30), Utah 21, higher than Nv (47), but lower than WA (15)......Could we be doing better? Sure....but the political notion that Idaho is at some basement-level isnt true......A retired teacher herself, my opponent supports more money for education in Idaho, but what she seems to really want is to have teachers paid more but without any measurement of teaching performance. (TN, 10/8/2014). She wont identify how she would raise the money, except by raising taxes, which she supports......Idahos funding for public schools has increased more than 11 percent since the recession and is now almost back to pre-recession levels, a fact never mentioned by the doom-gloom Dem critics......See Idahos ranking here.... wallethub/edu/states-with-the-best-schools/5335/
