It certainly is windy! Jennifer and I were at an intersection when - TopicsExpress

It certainly is windy! Jennifer and I were at an intersection when we heard the slow cracking of a fifty foot tree we were under. I took a driving class for bodyguards (taught by an ex Secret Service guy) to improve my emergency driving skills years ago. It has paid off on a number of occasions. Tonight, I muttered hang on and gunned the car through the intersection, swerving around the first part of the tree to go down. Interestingly, during the driving class I learned how to drive while handcuffed, using your knees to steady the car while dealing with other things (use your imagination but not in a dirty way), how to spin your car around (180 and 360 degrees) while going 50-60 mph, coming out of a skid due to ice or oil and a bunch of other fun stuff. I feel confident I could work as a Transporter should my chess teaching come to an end. The best thing about that class, which was two days long, was learning how to respond to very bad situations without panicking. That class has saved my life on at least seven occasions. The hood of my old Jaguar flipped up while I was doing 70mph once and thanks to the class, I didnt panic but was able to drive hanging out the driver side window until I could pull over. I loved that car but it was a money pit (it was vintage which translates to problematic). So if you need a good wheel-man you know where to find me (cash only, no questions asked). I suspect Jennifer will opt to take a taxi to work over the next few days due to my mad driving skills (or perhaps my madness while driving). As Greg Langston once said Driving is serious business.
