It doesn’t matter if you’re shy or introverted. If you want to succeed, you need to communicate. And grow a thicker skin. Show me a creative who’s never suffered a setback or a bad review, and you won’t be pointing at a superstar. (John) Fowles, (Frida) Kahlo, (Mark) Twain, (Iggy) Pop… if you’re feeling stuck and discouraged, take heart from the fact that you’re in good company. None of these “greats” were immune from creative blocks. In fact, one of the things that made them great was their persistence in the face of self-doubt, criticism, and rejection.
