It feels bad and sad to see what our beloved country is turning into now,Our Ghana is been taken away from us gradually, history teaches us that our colonial masters did us more harm than good in the developing pace, granted,Growing up i have realized that we(Ghanaian) are the creators/originators of our woes today, from history down to our present age,back-biting,gossips,blackmailing,misquoting and sabotaging each other all in the name of gaining a position not for the progress of the country but for selfish gains(thats how come we had various coup detats in our countrys history) I initially decided to reserve my comments on the recent economic crises in our country but as a voice for the voiceless,i think its a calling to intercede for the vulnerable in our society rather than a profession, How can the management of Ghana Commercial Bank the only state owned bank(i stand to be corrected) take decision without considering the interest of the citizenry, its very appauling, make their transaction since they have the largest branches nationwide. Do you know that, a GCB account initial balance now should not be less than 50cedis?Do you also know that 1ghana cedis will be automatically deducted from your account which time you check or redraw money over the counter(respectively)I took the pain to ask why all these strict measures and i was told that they want people to use Electronic Banking(E-Banking)(ATM) Folks,i walked into GCB circle branch and i saw something i would like to share, there was this lady on a particular ATM machine and she was struggling with the operations of it,this guy from nowhere walked in and this lady called him for help,he went beside the lady and he was actually teaching the lady how to use the machine, the problem here is that, this guy gets to know the ladys secret pin and what makes you think he wouldnt cash out money from her account when he gets the opportunity, in this hard times ? Did the management ,put into consideration the number of people who will be duped? And ironically there motto is We serve you better but i would say We serve you bitterhow would a state owned bank implement policies that will affect the financial well being of the citizenry I would sayThe Ghanaian economy is not in Ghanaian handswe need to do more than the talking,we need brave hearts to steer the affairs of mother Ghana, remember Ghana is approaching its 57th birthday three years to retirement,What kind of preparations are we doing for our old age,Arrest my case.ABAMOAH.
