It feels so good to be doing something normal today! My sons - TopicsExpress

It feels so good to be doing something normal today! My sons first chemo treatment was Thursday, May 22nd and we dont have any other appointments till this Thursday May 29th. Since I have a little free time, todays experiment is formulating a light body lotion for normal skin types. My oils of choice are Camellia Seed Oil & Sesame Oil, both are wonderful for our skin. Heres some information about the oils I found online: Camellia Seed Oil is highly penetrating and used in many anti aging, after sun care, anti wrinkle, lip care and baby care products. Approximately 85% of the fatty acid composition contained in Camellia Oil is in the form of monounsaturated oleic acid. Camellia Oil is also a rich source of other omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids plus Vitamin E and polyphenols. Camellia Oil is a nutritive cosmeceutical oil that is said to be the ancient beauty secret of the geishas. (source, From Nature With Love) Sesame Oil is great for soothing weather damaged skin, reducing inflammation and softening the skin. It contains a substantial amount of oleic acid which resembles fatty acids found in human sebum, it offers great moisture regulation and possible skin renewing properties. Its fabulous for after sun care and skin softening. Sesame Oil also contains a polyphenol called lignan, lignan is the structural backbone for most anti-oxidants. Believed to exhibit anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects. This oil is showing great strides in regulating sebum production and may help with acne prone skin. (source, Point of Interest) Im not making any claims here, Im simply trying to help you as my reader understand why I choose some of the ingredients to experiment and work with that I do. The fragrance for this light body lotion is Sea Salt & Agave, it has a light satiny feel and absorbs quickly into my skin, so far I like it!
