It felt very chilly on the morning walk. A distant black airliner floating across the clear sky with no contrail. A smart pheasant all dressed up and sat on a gate with steam escaping from its mouth. The hum of the M6 to the east the only sound. You can smell the approach of winter. Glad I have a stable full of dry logs and cut up wood from a house demolition I helped with. Sat by the crackling fire last night and dreaming of the warm sunshine I thought every season is beautiful, that is they all look good but some feel better than others.
