It goes without saying that its getting cold out there and its going to get colder. Remember that the effectiveness of salt greatly diminishes when temps get below freezing and can actually make matters worse. Sand and other solutions are used in areas where practical; however, sand isnt a good idea in areas where drainage is an issue.
