It happened five years ago, and its happening again now. Whenever we set out to compile a list of the people whove most shaped Southwest Florida as we know it today, we run into a huge problem: Lists are finite. Theyre also subjective. When The News-Press celebrated its 125th birthday in 2009, we featured — you guessed it —125 of the most influential people in Southwest Florida history. This year, when we turned 130, we did the same thing with five more names, running one profile a day.
