One of the Kashmir’s premier hospital SMHS’ casualty ward has just one blood pressure measuring apparatus for six doctors. For the ever packed casualty ward, having only one BP apparatus is creating problems for the six doctors overseeing the casualty. The doctors on duty, one of the doctors claimed, have been asking for more BP apparatus but to no avail. “It has created problems for we people (doctors). There is only one BP apparatus for six doctors in casualty ward that witnesses a huge rush. We are unable to deliver our duties properly thanks to the lack of BP sufficient apparatuses,” one of the doctors who declined to be named told Kashmir Thoughts. Even that single apparatus, he says, isn’t in a good condition. He said that he and his colleagues had asked for more apparatuses but haven’t been heeded. “We have been asking for the same for last so many days but people at the helm of affairs seem to be not moved and patients and doctors continue to suffer,” he said.
