It has become more evident to me as a gymnastics coach that there is a vital point at which we teach girls to value and celebrate their physical capacity and strength versus their physical appearance and its influence. Equally of importance boys should be provided the compassion, warmth and tenderness often denied as they maturate because it is perceived as emasculative. They should be provided the opportunity to dismember confidence from self worth. When done in the best possible balanced way to reflect the values and goal of a culture. A harmony between most can be found.
