It has been a busy day! In addition to two gravely injured squirrels (more on those later), we received a call about a hawk stuck in the grill of a car. While this might seem crazy, it is actually not that uncommon. In most cases, the person doesnt even realize the animal is in there. Luckily, a fellow traveler saw the feathery victim and was able to flag down the driver of the vehicle and alert them to the problem. While the hawk has some swelling in his left elbow, this little male red-tailed seems to be in much better condition than we expected! He has some swelling on his spine which is causing him a few issues with the use of his legs, but with luck and plenty of medications and one on one care, hopefully he will recover!
