It has been a mammoth week here in the last week! We have had a birth (pictured), Summer is a stunning chestnut and white purebred filly, she is out of our TPS special mare Ginga, Ginga came to us as she had an acquired brain injury and she was such a lovely mare her trainers felt she would be the perfect candidate to help promote the breed as performance horses outside of racing. A Flash of Colour, owned by the wonderful Stanley Park sired this gorgeous filly and its easy to see watching her in the paddock that she has a massive future ahead of her! After Summers both I had to go away for a few days a funeral (hence why I was slack with updates and emails for a few days), and being there to say goodbye to my cousin who was killed in a car accident on his way to work 2 weeks ago was a harsh reminder to live life to its fullest, you never know whats around the corner. I then flew back in time (just) to get down to the SPPHAV State Showing Championships yesterday. I really wanted to support the show but with everything that happened in the last couple of weeks I only ended up taking Astro. We had a great day out with so many wonderful standy people, and were lucky enough to enjoy some success too! Today was back to reality at home, and it was super productive!! Vicki came out to help, as I often struggle to be able to ride with no one here, and part of our cutting down plan means getting thru our current waiting list and horses here that are ready to start, so Vicki has joined our team to help out, and we are incredibly lucky to have her!!!! George was first up to be ridden, and he was SUPER!! He went super, even having his first canter under saddle, which he found way too easy!!! George was broken in to saddle just under 12 months ago, he had a short preparation as we realised he had a lot of physical maturing to do and we had an awesome foster mum that gave him a wonderful home for 6 months, and he has blossomed! Coming back into work he is so much more balanced and mature and is excelling! He will be ready for rehoming in the very very near future!! Pat was next and also wowed us, having his first ride here and if anything looking bored by the whole thing, I dont think he understood what the whole big deal was! I cant help but like our little Patty man, he is the best character!! Panther also did some awesome ground work/mouthing work, as its been many years since has worn any gear, but he is very unfazed about having it all back on! Charlie has an update on his status, but I will put that in another post another day!! All in all its been an exhausting week but this week finally brings us back to being able to focus on the horses progressing, with the silly season over and the rain turning our hard surface into a little more rideable surface will be making the most of it until it hardens again with more hot days!
