It has been a most wonderful Resurrection Day. A message of great truth, poignancy and impact at church. Midday spent with closest friends at their new home. A relaxing remainder of the day off, which has allowed me to contemplate. Listening to two of my favorite teachers, I kept hearing the word rebellion. Its what we all do at one time or another, something I still do. I rebelled against religion in my teens, running, not walking away from it. I spent the next 35+ years living my life on a wide path I didnt even know existed. I left a lot of bodies along the roadside during that time. At my lowest point, God rescued me from the miry pit in which I found myself. In a voice I plainly heard, He told me He had different plans for my life. He needed someone who had my life experiences to read the Word. Since I had never read the Bible in its entirety, I took it upon myself to do so. As many of you know, it has dramatically changed my life. I began my journey on the narrow path. I have come to realize that there IS only one, LIVING God. There is only one LIVING prophet, Jesus Christ. There is only one LIVING Holy Spirit. There is only ONE Who rose from the grave. ALL the others are dead and still buried. Today I celebrate Resurrection Day, the day that changed EVERYTHING. Because of my FAITH, not RELIGION, I know I have a destiny beyond the grave. I am FAR from perfect. I am a finite, fallible person who still sins. I know that, but MOST importantly HE knows it. Because I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, He intercedes on my behalf when I stumble. Everyone I have ever come in contact with knows I was injected with a phonograph needle at birth (my Moms saying). Its who I am. I learn something and I want to tell others about it. If you dont know, I am telling you on Resurrection Day that Jesus IS real and He is ALIVE. From the beginning, He gave His disciples the mandate, His Great Commission. He commissioned believers to take His Word to all the world. That was one of His plans for me. It is a task that will never be finished. If you do know, let someone else who doesnt, know, especially if they ask. One of the things that brightens my day on a regular basis is seeing posts from former colleagues and life-long friends who have also come to know these truths. I am in good company. I am grateful for every experience life has given me. I am so grateful to know each one of you. I look forward on THAT day, whenever it comes, to hearing His voice say, Well done, good and faithful servant. That is my ultimate goal. God bless you all...God, bless America...and America, bless God.
