It has been a scary and sad week. Alot of vomiting and pain. She is swollen. Last night got very scary even for the nurses. She kept asking for milk and so i kept giving it to her. After 16 oz I checked her diaper. Once I pulled back her sheet I discovered ALL of her fluids were rapidly flowing out of her. Her heart rate immediately went to 173 and she started to shiver uncontrollably. It turns out they never had a kid drink like that on day +1 of their stem cell transplant and they had her fluids and tube feeds up so high, the extra milk just threw her system out of whack. She had too much in her lil body so her body told itself to expel everything and dropped her into severe dehydration. It all happened so fast but it also was fixed fast by stopping her tube feeding for 4 hours and increasing her IV fluids. She is better now. Still miserable and shivery but better. We think the shivering is due to her being so weak. But with her being like this, Mitch hasnt been to work all week. Gonna b a tough month for bills but I seriously need him here. They say days +7-14 are the worst and so the worst is still yet to come. Im already a mess. We will worry about finances when we are put of the woods. Right now, just dealing with keeping our baby comfortable through this horrific journey.
