It has been a tough year. I had been anxiously waiting for it to end. With Silkes sickness, the constant struggle for a better life for our strays in Chania, trying to feed the animals we are taking care of, attempting to gain recognition for the contribution of Silkes mission with the authorities, my little health battles....the list was endless. I had been waiting for the year to end with the hopes to start a new. With the hopes that along with the new year would come new changes. New changes to rid me of the old, exhausting year. And then came the wishes, the gratitude, the pictures and the lovely words from many of you in posts, private messages and emails. I may not have a pocket full of endless money, a mind full of endless courage, a body full of endless strength but I do have all of you. A page full of warm, friendly, generous, kindly outspoken members. I would like to take this time to thank you all, the active and the not so active for being here, for following our activities, for sharing our moments and for supporting our cause. I am grateful for all of you, 1500 members today. A very Merry Christmas, a very happy holiday season and wishing you all a happy, healthy, peaceful New Year. Below, my personal babies along with one cat (out of the fifteen), Emily Rose who sat for longer than 5 seconds with that darn hat on her head! Elizabeth Iliakis
