It has been a while since I have given an update on my families - TopicsExpress

It has been a while since I have given an update on my families walk -and my dads condition- after his May 23rd Brain Aneurysm. As some of you may know, we spent 47 days confined to hospitals as dads body worked hard to recover from the brain injury and the MRSA pneumonia. After we brought dad home, he took 3 steps forward and 2 back. This has been consistent. Though this is the general path we have traveled regarding his recovery, we rejoice in the daily evidence of improvements; regardless of how small. Last week dad had an infection that was frightening but is making a full recovery. As some people may have experienced, physical pain or infection can change the mental recovery as well. Though dad has had battles, large and small, he is continuing to improve. My mother has been the Angel that she always is. Never leaving dads side and forging paths to dads recovery through difficult times with very little sleep, she never quits- never fails to put dad first. After dad returned home on July 9th, we realized with his increased ability to communicate, that he was almost entirely blind. With surgery, he has gained the sight in one eye. This has increased his comprehension and mobility. I suppose it is true, When it rains it pours. However, there are worse places to be than in the rain. Thank you to everyone who has supported us through these most difficult, yet rewarding days since May 23rd. Nancy McNeely Doll and Mark, Francis S Suarez, Sandra Tussey Lewis, Lisa Porter, Cathie Elder, Charlene Salyers, and many many more.
