It has been a wild first month as the official Liberal candidate in Laurentides—Labelle and I want to thank you for the continued support, encouragement, and engagement that has made this possible, and will make a victory for our community in next years election just as achievable! This week ended with the Liberal leader and next prime minister Justin Trudeau coming to a Round Table on local issues organised at my request by Guy Vandenhove of the Sainte-Adèle Chamber of Commerce. The week started with noted environmentalist David Suzuki coming to my home town of Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides to help us celebrate Mont-Kaaikop. We are rising to the challenge of becoming a leader in our country and, with your help and support, our region will truly take its place on the national stage. I am very pleased with the team that is coming together to carry us through to the next election. Mylène Laframboise, who contested the nomination, has graciously agreed to come on as the new president of our riding association, replacing Jean-Marc Lacoste who put four long, hard years into rebuilding the Liberal brand here and who will continue to be involved where he can. Mylène has hit the ground running, working very hard for the greater cause of bringing our riding to the table in the next government. The team is still forming and if you are willing and able to get involved, please let me know, there is room for everyone! We need to follow the hope and embrace the hard work that is ahead of us. Working together, we can make a difference and when we have, we will each feel the pride of the part we had in the process. The first challenge we face is the likelihood that the election will be called well before October 2015, despite Mr. Harpers fixed election date law, and we need to prepare ourselves for the battle ahead. We must fill our coffers because a well-run campaign will cost nearly $100,000. Please renew your membership or, even better, upgrade to a Victory Fund membership which automatically renews and ensures that we have a stable source of funding to fight the next election, and the one after that. Even $5 a month goes a long way. There are tax credits of up to 75% for these donations, meaning that your contribution could cost you just $1.25/month while still making a difference toward our electoral fortunes in Laurentides—Labelle. Help us spread the word to your friends, your family, and your networks. You dont need to live here to give here. We have to keep our eyes fixed on the goal and roll up our sleeves as there is a lot of work to do.
