It has been an emotional off and on week for me. Tomorrow is our 45th anniversary. I have spent time thinking about our years together and thinking about things like when someone else I have known lost a spouse, how do you acknowledge that anniversary or do you? Now I have a different perspective on this whole thing to share with you. You wonder and worry if wishing that person a happy anniversary is wrong, will it make them sad, will it make them cry, how can the anniversary be happy with your loved one with you? I have not handled that whole thing well in the past so here is my thoughts--yes, you might make them cry--they are going to cry anyway! yes you might make them sad--they are already sad! Yes, they can be happy on that day, just remembering the years they had together, their wedding day, other anniversaries or whatever and it helps to know that others also remember! So even though I have had a lot more moments when tears come for pretty much no reason this past week, I am looking forward to our anniversary! I will be spending it watching our granddaughter play a soft ball tournament and hanging out with Dales sister so it will be a great day!
