It has been an *extremely* long, emotionally draining - TopicsExpress

It has been an *extremely* long, emotionally draining rollercoaster of a day (well, week, but especially today). I am officially exhausted. We have not found our babies and worry more about their well being with each passing day because nobody has actually seen them in the days theyve been gone. Todays leads were false alarms. There are all kinds of scenarios running through our minds with one of our biggest worries being that hunting season started the night they took off. We still pray they will make it home or at the very least that they are safe and loved somewhere (even if we never know.....of course thats the hardest part....not knowing). All we can do is continue praying. On a much brighter note, we did rescue a baby from the pound today. It really hurt my heart to visit there yesterday looking for our babies....knowing what their (the dogs already there) fates could be if left there. We dont know when or if our babies will ever come home, but they have a new sister when they do. We named her Gracie (Gods saving grace) since it was appropriate for her situation. She is the sweetest thing (reminds me of Missys sweet disposition). We have developed a HUGE heart for the very misunderstood pit breed since taking Missy in a couple years ago (also a rescue). Gracie actually perked up and got more excited when we began pulling up to the house almost like she just knew she was home. She was introduced to and loves the little dogs (although Zoey and Versace are not crazy about her....just as they are not crazy about TobyMac still). TobyMac on the other hand has also been shunned by them since he arrived so he was overjoyed with a playmate that will actually play with him! (He gave her kisses!!) Now that we have adopted, our babies will probably come home (isnt that how it happens with human adoptions and having biological babies of your own?!) In any case, we saved her from a possible sad fate and we will enjoy getting to know her more as we continue to look for her brother and sister. Will post a pic soon.
