It has been another long day. Progress was made with Jeff getting out if bed and taking a few steps. However they are closely watching the way he swallows. They believe there is a lot if swelling in the neck due to both the breathing tube and the repair of the Vertabrae. This can cause an issue if the esophagus doesnt open enough to let food and drink pass thru. If it doesnt it could actually go down his wind pipe without him knowing. So... He was taken off food and drink today. It must be better in the morning or he will have to have a feeding tube. He is so scared that this might happen and doesnt want another tube in his throat. Please pray the swelling reduces and he is able to swallow when reevaluated. Also having quite a bit if pain. ... Thanks for everyones concern, thoughts, prayers, calls and text messages. It is awesome.
