It has been another very pleasant autumn day in Sparks, sunny and reaching a delightful 69 degrees. Tonight will cool to between 47 and 52 degrees. Tomorrow should remain pleasant most of the day and reach the upper 50s before turning colder in the afternoon. I accomplished much around the house this morning before going out to do some shopping. Everyone tells me that it is important for me to develop new memories for events such as the holidays, so today was a first step. For the first time in many years, I am doing a little decorating for Christmas. I made two purchases today - 1) a small (tabletop) artificial Christmas tree and 2) six battery powered candles, one for each of the kitties. The tree and candles are now in the front window of the living room and look quite cheerful and festive. When I am out later in the week, I plan on getting a small wreath for the front door. Now, a thought/question for all of my friends and family. Why are the angels for the top of the tree always female? I had the intention of purchasing an African-American angel to put on top of the tree in honor of R, my angel in heaven, but I could not find a male angel (let alone a black male angel) anywhere. I really would like to find one, but it must be small (6 to 8 inches tall at the most) to fit the scale of the tree. So, if any of my friends or family sees a black male angel, please get it and send it to me! I will be happy to reimburse you any expenses. In the meantime, I will continue my search.
