It has been confirmed that Jet does have Potomac Horse Fever. They are icing her legs/feet to try to prevent laminitis from setting in. Her feet were a little warm this morning. They are treating her with Tetracycline and Biosponge to help stop the diarrhea. As of today she still has diarrhea :o( Because of the persistent diarrhea they continue to give her IV fluids. All measures to prevent this from happening were taken on the property. In the words of the vet “You just have some bad luck” lol And he’s right :o))) Be sure to read up on this and make sure that you know how to help prevent it from happening to your horses. Ours it not the only case. This is the time of year that the Mayflies are out.
