It has been mentioned here about the energy workers and purveyors of dubious items/therapies spending so much money on advertising, and it is true. If you were to take all of the exhibitors of woo away from the conventions, the organizers could probably could not afford to hold them--or they would cost twice the price to the attendees. If they were removed from the magazines, the magazines would probably disappear (and some of them print stuff that is totally embarrassing to begin with). Conference organizers usually have to guarantee the host hotel that a certain amount will be spent on food and beverages, and they have to make up the shortfall if it isnt. Its easy to say the people who promote reality should spend their money, but realistically, not everyone has it to spend. My illness caused me to lose a lot of work (and money) this year, Christopher and Ravensara both lost their jobs, and finances hold many people back from doing things they might like to do. Ad space in national publications is expensive, exhibitor booths are expensive, not to mention travel and accommodations. The old saying follow the money trail definitely holds up here, and I dont know the solution to that problem.
