It has been more than 10 years ago now but it was one of our more memorable foreign teaching tours. We had traveled to Manchester, UK to present a research paper at the national meeting of the British Accounting Association ... quite an honor. When completed we made our way via train back to London and caught the Euro Star train to Brussels. This thing went through the Chunnel under the English Channel, then thru France & Belgium at speeds up to 175mph. We went on thru northern Germany and Denmark, crossed another channel into Sweden and traveled by train north to the end of the train line (literally) where we caught a bus and crossed into Finland. We traveled north to Rovaneimi, Finland to teach at Rovaneimi Polytechnic Univ. It was during April & May and the weather was COLD. While there we got to visit with Santa Claus who was relaxing in his village on the outskirts of town after a hectic Christmas season. The village sits on the Arctic Circle so you can imagine how cold it was. He was kind enough to pause for a picture with us and chat for a few minutes. See my cover photo that Cendy and I are quite proud of. Merry Christmas to all our friends, wherever you may be.
