It has been my honor to spend the last 13 hours with my mother, Margaret Tharpe, in the hospital after a total knee replacement. Despite the up and down all night with bathroom duties, we laughed a lot and had a good time. But most of all- I am amazed at her strength and attitude. She only had one pain med at 8:00 pm last night! She performed her bed exercises and then walked in the hall, went up and down 12 steps, and returned to sit up in the chair in her room! Some would call her a tough ole woman or a real trooper. I call her amazing! What a true testimony of endurance and drive when you want to so something! I love her even more!
