It has been nearly nine years since I have purposely listened to this song. A book I have been reading recently is about recognizing the gifts, the blessings that God surrounds us with. We often get so wound up in being ungrateful for the things we don’t have that we forget to be thankful for the things we have been blessed with. I was blessed for 16 years to have the greatest friend I will ever know. She was and is the wind beneath my wings. Her memory pushes me to want to help others struggling with depression or hard times of any kind. I know personally the slippery slope depression can keep a person on. If you are willing though, God is always there to keep you from slipping. Whether it be through a friend reaching out to you, a song, a warm thought, or simple a puff of wind beneath your wing. Annette Marie Nolen Ferguson was the best person I will ever know. There is not a negative thing, I nor anyone else could say about her. Her memory and legacy pushes me every day to try and be a better person, not only for myself but for anyone else that might need a little gust of wind beneath their wings.
