It has been quite a tribute to Robin Williams life by everyone everywhere of how they were touched by him. I thought I might post an episode that my partner Lesa Kite and I wrote (and re-written and rewritten and made better by the entire talented writing staff). In this episode, Mork learns to drive. But the night before his test, he has a horrific nightmare of what horror is to come. A few fun facts: Watch Robins face when Jonathan talks(who could never remember the right lines). It is pure adoration and after the joke about the Teddy bear at the end --the double entendre makes Robin nearly lose it laughing. The scene where he describes the horrific dream was written (and changed a thousand times including a bit that was cut about him waiting on line in MacDonalds for French fries with Pearl Bailey (yes, old reference) but his acting is so superb, it seems like its ad-libbed. I believe the key chain joke - he threw in an ad-lib about Bagel Nosh. The driving test scene took place in a Paramount Parking lot and you can see the arches. The car was not a trick car. It was driven by a stunt driver who could make a normal car do those things. We got to watch that scene it was amazing. Because those scenes were shot one camera, rather than in front of a studio audience, we got to see dailies in a small theater. It was pretty exciting, like something you see in an old movie. Roll it, Joe! When we all saw the close up of Robins hands snapping shut his seatbelt, up on the large screen, Robin who was known to be quite hairy -- his hands were SO furry, they were afraid they looked like Ape hands and debated about keeping that scene in. But most of all youll see exactly why everyone is expressing their love and affection for him. Its all there in this episode and (every episode) that is 30 years old!
