It has been quite a week. This week we received visits from friends and family from St. Louis, Oklahoma and New York. They must have brought good luck because we also received word of the leukemias remission and Don began walking again with the walker. He progressed to a whole lap of the floor yesterday and survived an extensive evaluation with OT and PT today. We are hoping for a transfer to an acute care rehab center to get him even stronger. With the goal of the stem cell transplant in 6 weeks, we have a lot to get ready for. I will be calling on my family from NY to come next and bring their good luck vibes our way. (Plus I have a few jobs to ask them for help on. :)) We are blessed and Don has come a long way. Still requiring transfusions of platelets or blood daily, but we can handle that.
