It has been very quiet here at the PSP for the last few days. Rachel has her computer up and running again and has been checking out shelters for future challenges. In my neck of the woods, we have been having lots of unusual summer storms. Some of you may have heard on the news about the young camper who died last week at an overnight summer camp here in Maryland during a very sudden and fast-moving storm. The camp is only about 7 miles from my house and one of the injured campers was the daughter of one of my sons friends. It really made me stop and think just how quickly things happen that dramatically change our lives. For the women who make the decision to leave their home with their children, at a moments notice, leaving everything behind, hopefully their dramatic change will lead to a better life. While slippers and washcloths are only a small part of what these families need at this time, we hope that by providing handmade items just for them it will let them know that many others from around the country are thinking of them with love in every stitch they make! On this note, I wanted to ask our members a question. Other than just the item you made, why do you knit, crochet, or sew? What do YOU, personally, get from your craft? (Judy)
