It has come to my attention (sounds real intelligent huh?) about me and my Legendary DAY at WIFE radio. Unlike Paul Harvey and his And now the rest of the story ,,HERES the real story. I wouldve loved to work there but I didnt really get a chance. Steve Brown the PD hired me on the phone. He told me they were gonna have a Find WIFEs MOJOMAN contest The winner would win $1000. Steve told me to go nowhere near the station and instructed me to go to a certain Motel. He told me he would be out of town that he was going to see his boss in Omaha. Now I didnt know who his boss was let alone knowing who Don Burden was. He told me to get up everyday and cruise the city and keep track of my expenses. He said he would be back in a few days. Listeners were told to say Are You WIFEs MojoMan? So thats what me and my ex did. On the THIRD NIGHT we pulled into what I would describe as a A&W Root Beer Drive In,,Roller Skate girls and all. Here come one sweet little teenie bopper on her skates,,,eyeballing my Thunderbird (67 Powder Blue with a White Vinyl Top) Shes taking our order and really looking at all the clothes hanging across the back seat,,Shes telling the girl next to her on skates,,,I think this is him. I said who? She said Ill bet youre WIFEs MOJOMAN but my girlfriend says it cant be you because you have North Carolina license plates. I told her Why couldnt TheMojoMan have NC license plates? She started yelling I found him,,I found him etc etc. I took her name and she went to call her Mom. So we waited just a little bit until her Mom showed up and as best I could told her what to do,,call the station etc. Steve Brown had never told me what I was to do if I was found except go straight to the station and go on the air and thats what I did. The guy that I took over for told me he didnt know what I was to do and soon I was in front of a strange board and he left,,,to this day I cannot rem. exactly who it was but I think it was Buddy Scott,,I was in a mess that I had never had to deal with before,,,So here I am Rappin & Rhymin away talking,,trying to figure a log out and answering the phone. One phone sorta on the side or a different color kept ringing and ringing,,I figured it was the office line or news line,,so I ignored it for a while. I finally answered it and the guy on the other end was screamin and cussin. He was saying Where the hell did you come from Im the owner,,,blah blah blah,,,I figured it was some kinda joke. I mean Im the new guy what the hell did I know,,so I kept hanging up. The second or third time I told the guy you better get someone in here before the records over,,Nobodys gonna cuss me out and talk to me that way Im leaving and I did. So within minutes Lana and I were up the road. After I got back home Steve Brown and I talked several times and I think he sent me that expense money. Everything went wrong in those 3 days. Maybe I shouldve lied to that little girl on those roller skates but I just couldnt. Sorry this is so long. Thanks for letting me join. Heres me and my ex Lana from those days.
