It has come to our attention that former Cecil County Commissioner Rebecca Demmler is circulating an email in which she attacks Cecil Times on our reporting on the federal drug abuse prevention grant and the facts that a majority of the funds will be used to pay for the salary and benefits of a program co-ordinator. Cecil Times has published many letters to the editor and on-site comments from Mrs. Demmler, so we are particularly perplexed at her FALSE allegation that she posted a comment here on our Facebook page link to the original article but it was not published,--and her assertion that she did not post a comment on the original article on Cecil Times because she assumed it would not be published. Comments on our Facebook page are NOT moderated in advance and people are free to post here-- but we will respond, or in very rare instances remove a comment if it uses bad language or is libelous or blatantly inflammatory.NO comment was posted on our Facebook page from Mrs. Demmler, contrary to the false assertion in her email. If Mrs. Demmler has an issue, she can post her comments right here-- but she should know that there will be responses to her in public view. Is that why she chose instead to circulate her attack on Cecil Times via private email?
