Todays situation is that India contributes only about three percent of global scientific research, and produced only about 5000 PhDs a year (most of whom are of deplorable quality). Modi government is hell-bent on finishing even these residual traces of scientific temperament in the country. The situation reminds me of a dialogue in famous Amir Khan film Rang De Basanti: हमारा एक पांव अतीत में है और एक पांव भविष्य में। और हम इन दों पांवों के बीच पड़े वर्तमान पर मूत रहे हैं।
