It has often been said that New Years day is just another day, but it really does represent a new thing, “year”. With every new year we are presented with at a least a perceived new beginning. We set goals, make new years resolutions and almost always plan on losing weight. (at least I do) The reality is there is only one way to have a completely new life ahead of us, “I have come that you may have life, and have life more abundantly” John 10:10. Jesus (the reason for Christmas) came so that we could live a new life, and not only a new life, but a life greater than anything we could ever imagine. The Apostle Paul says it this way “Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold all things have become new” 2 Corinthians 5:17. That is truly a way to something new, a fresh start, to let Jesus be your savior. What He is offering is not just a new year, but a new life. Psalm 103 says that our sins are as far as the east are from the west. Which means we have a clean slate because He remembers our sins no more. If you want a real “new year” let Jesus be the beginning of it. Thought I would share pastors pen for tomorrow with you all…have a great new year!!!!
